The Little Caesars Player of the Week – Claudia Wilson
1 year ago Andrew Luberda 0
County Line Preps is pleased to have a sponsorship agreement with specific Little Caesars locations in Queen Creek and Coolidge.
Little Caesars, home of the Hot-‘N-Ready pizza, will sponsor the Player of the Week and Player of the Month awards as part of our agreement.
Each week, CountyLinePreps.com will announce the Player of the Week, accompanied by a Q&A with that week’s winner.
The Player of the Week will receive a gift certificate, redeemable for a two-liter bottle of soda, a pepperoni or cheese pizza, and an order of Crazy Bread, that will be honored at one of the two aforementioned Little Caesars locations.
Additionally, the Player of the Week automatically qualifies for the Player of the Month Award, which will be determined by a poll that will be posted on our County Line Preps Twitter account during the final week each month.
The Player of the Month will receive a plaque and a $25 Little Caesars gift card.
Now that we’ve provided details of both awards, we are pleased to announce this week’s Little Caesars Player of Week:
Queen Creek – Senior
6’2’ Outside Hitter
This week’s Little Caesars’ Player of the Week represents a couple of firsts for us at County Line Preps.
Wilson is our first female POTW and the first who is not a football player.
In a pair of matches last week, Wilson had 17 kills, seven serving aces and 16 digs.
CLP: By now most people know you signed to play volleyball at Sacramento State. Are you glad to have your decision made and the recruiting over? Does having it behind you make your final season that much more enjoyable?
CW: I’m very excited to have verbally committed to play volleyball at Sacramento State. It was a long journey through the recruiting process, but I know I made the right decision to play at Sacramento State. It’s definitely a relief to be done with the recruiting process, but no matter what, I’ll still enjoy my next volleyball season just as much as I would any other season.
CLP: It’s safe to say your team has some lofty goals this season. How can it achieve them?
CW: Our biggest goal this season is to win state for 5A. To achieve that goal we need to play together as one; we are capable of whatever we set our minds to. Putting work in, on and off the court, will help us achieve our goals.
CLP: What are you going to study at Sacramento State? What career do you want to pursue?
CW: I haven’t made a specific decision in what I want to study. I’m interested in many things, but my main focus right now is a successful senior year and focusing on getting ready for college.
CLP: What is your greatest athletic memory at Queen Creek?
CW: My greatest athletic memory at Queen Creek High School is playing with my sister this year. I feel very lucky to have this opportunity.
CLP: What is your favorite sports movie and why?
CW: My favorite sports movie is 42, The True Story of an American Legend. I love this movie because my dad and I used to watch it all the time together. I like how the main character never gave up and always pushed for success.
CLP: Name one person you’d like to meet and why?
CW: I’d like to meet Kerri Lee Walsh Jennings because she’s a hard worker, and I’ve also looked up to her as a player and a person.
