Patriot Games: Bryce Elevating ALA QC To New Heights

At first glance it’s easy to see why Brett Bryce isn’t only respected for his play on the court but as one of the leaders on a deep and talented ALA-Queen Creek volleyball team who have their sites set on a 5A state championship in the coming weeks.
Their jaw-dropping 30-3 record entering Monday’s game against Arizona College Prep is indicative of the type of season Bryce is having. The outside hitter is among the team leaders in kills, spikes, digs and blocks and has elevated his play in nearly every statistical category from his sophomore to junior year.
“I love the way ALA runs their culture,” Bryce said to CountyLinePreps.com after a recent win. “I love the crowd and the intensity of the [matches].”
The Patriots’ momentum is building and the team appears to be peeking behind the talents and guidance of Bryce who has been a stabilizing force both offensively and defensively.
“Brett’s a rare breed of athlete,” head coach Tim Zemp explained to CountyLinePreps.com. “[But] I think the best thing about him is he’s a fantastic teammate. He is the hardest working person in the gym. Brett is the epitome of a true teammate in all senses of the word. He works hard. He’s a great player, good student. It sets the precedent and the bar high.”
To relax and unwind from the daily grind of academics and volleyball you may find Bryce hitting another kind of white ball.
“I love golf,” he said with a wide smile. “It’s a fun sport because you can mess up but have fun with it.”
There haven’t been many mess ups on the court this season for ALA Queen Creek. The Patriots are hoping to keep it clean for a few more weeks.
Something tells me Bryce won’t have it any other way.
